Our client, a company active in the wind energy sector is searching for a Structural Design Engineer for its office in The United States. You will be responsible for:

• Strength analysis of major wind turbine components using ANSYS.
• Preparation of documentation suitable for certification of wind turbines.
• Regular contact with clients through face to face meetings, by telephone and through written communication.
• Working independently and as part of an integrated, international team.

Skills, Experience, profile:

• An MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with structures content.
• Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplined team of engineers;
• The ability to work under commercial pressure;
• The ability to speak and write fluently in English;
• Significant experience in the field of stress analysis, finite element analysis and 3D design of large structural components.
• Proven record of analysis and preferably design of structural components for preferably wind turbines or heavy engineering, off-highway vehicles, cranes, shipping or similar.
• Use of tools across a wide range of mechanical applications with the ability to learn new, innovative wind turbine methods.
• Recent in-depth experience of ANSYS (version 10 or higher).
• Knowledge of ANSYS programming language.
• Skilled user of 3D CAD software.
