Job description

Our client, a successful European developer of wind farms is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for its wind farm team.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing all aspects of the grid connection process for a number of allocated of projects. This will include:
• Preparation of project grid analysis, grid plans, and grid connection design;
• Grid connection applications;
• Working with development team in negotiation of detailed terms with utility companies and/or regulatory authorities;
• Working with development team in securing grid connection agreements;
• Reporting on compliance with the relevant contractual and grid code obligations;
• Consultant Selection – Sourcing, assessment and appointment of competent Engineering and Design consultancies to assist with grid connection feasibility studies, costing of projects, preliminary design and detailed design as required. Continuous management of these external consultants and verification of delivery against requirements and specifications;
• Procurement – wind turbines and project;
• Assisting the Airtricity Procurement Team with pre-purchasing of long lead electrical plant items e.g. wind turbine, transformers, cables, switchgear, substation equipment;
• Auditing quality of the delivered product;
• Quality & Safety Management - Ensuring all electrical engineering activities are carried out to the highest quality standards and in accordance with the relevant health and safety standards;
• Management of Contractors – for all tasks as above;
• Managing technical design reviews of Contractor’s detailed designs;
• Interfacing with and managing external consultants during grid analysis, grid connection application, project design and construction;
• Active participation in the ongoing development of the Engineering Quality (EQ) department

Skills and Experience:

• Excellent power electrical engineering skills;
• Fluent writing and spoken English and Swedish;
• Communication and people management skills;
• Technical report writing and presentation skills;
• Capacity to deliver high quality work on a consistent basis in a pressured environment;
• Ability to work as a team player;
• Interest and awareness of current technical, environmental and business issues;
• Willingness to regular travel.
